While selecting machines for the new Technology Center we followed two basic presumptions. To have the latest technologies at our disposal, meeting the Industry 4.0 requirements, and at the same time to be able to use applications with the largest potential of use for the Czech and Slovak markets.
An absolute innovation is the electrical machine PX (namely KraussMaffei PX 160), which was presented for the first time at the K 2016 trade fair in Düsseldorf. This is a new concept of an electrically driven injection moulding machine with a long lifetime, minimum operational costs and a wide range of possible additional equipment. At the same time the PX machines feature a highly precise size of dose.
Hydraulic machines are represented by the KraussMaffei CX 80 and GX 451 machines. The CX machine is smaller – it is a flexible and multipurpose machine with a compact design, while the GX 451 represents a combination of a machine with a high range of closing force at high precision and maximum dynamics.
The KraussMaffei GX 451 machine is able, thanks to the sliding shoes “GuideX”, to shorten the closing and opening times of the moulds to a fraction of the normal time. The GearX locks fall exactly into the thickening of the columns and ensure effective transmission of forces and one of the fastest ways of locking. The machine features a compact closing unit, thanks to which it is dimensionally saving in proportion to a higher closing force.
In the Technology Center we also present modern technologies. The fully electrical machine PX 160 uses the RocTool technology. This is a systemic solution for parts with extremely high requirements for surface quality. The principle consists in induction heating of the mould, together with an extremely powerful cooling set, making it possible to change the cavity temperature by approx. 100˚C in a magnitude of seconds. The results are perfect design surfaces of a part during short manufacturing cycles.
On the KraussMaffei GX 451 machine we present the MuCell technology, thanks to cooperation with Trexel. This is a filling technology which can be used for as many as 60 % of projects in the automotive industry. Thanks to injection moulding of plastics together with semi-liquid nitrogen you can save a large part of material costs, reduce the part weight, lower the necessary closing force of the machine and shorten the cycle time.
